The Sage Project was launched in the Fall of 2022. It began as a way to share the Native American history of our state and specifically our region with my neighborhood through honoring National Native American History month during the month of November.
The mission of the Sage Project is to increase community awareness of the rich cultural history and ongoing contribution of the Native American tribes of South Carolina. Through community education, we hope to increase cultural appreciation, diverse volunteer base and ultimately funding for oral history archival, language preservation and literacy on behalf of the indigenous people the great state of South Carolina.
Annabelle Grogan-Founder
I am on a journey to deepen my understanding of linguistics and anthropology by learning from and contributing to the Native American communities and cultures in my backyard. I am passionate about sharing what I have learned with others who live in my community.
Contributions fund community awareness efforts, education & the annual "Tree of Good Spirit" adopt-a-child drive for the Catawba Nation. Contributions are tax deductible.
